Lenten Opportunities At Our Lady of the Mountains

  • Scripture Reflection: Each Monday morning at 9:00 am Fr. Josh will lead a Bible study reflecting on the upcoming weekend’s Scripture readings.
  • Confessions: Confessions will be available immediately following the 5:30 pm Mass on Wednesdays, 9-10 am Fridays, after Mass Saturday mornings, and from 3-4 pm Saturdays. If none of those times work for you, schedule an appointment with Fr. Josh!
  • Adoration: Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is available Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 am, Wednes day from 4-5 pm, and Friday from 9-4 pm (Benediction right before Stations of the Cross).
  • Latin Mass: Mass will be offered every Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Most of the priest’s prayers will be prayed in Latin, in the hopes that this will enable all of us to experience anew the richness of the Mass, to focus less on the words and more on the power, beauty, and mystery that is present in our Liturgical Worship. Readings, the homily, and most congregational responses will still be in English.
  • Evening Prayer: Fridays at 3:45 pm come and pray Vespers. This is part of the Liturgy of the Hours, prayed each day by priests, religious, and the laity around the world. Whether you pray this every day or you’ve never heard of it before, come pray together and join your prayer with Catholics around the world.
  • Stations of the Cross: Stations will be prayed at 4 pm each Friday. This is a powerful devotion, come and walk with Jesus on the path to Calvary.
  • Busy Person’s Retreat: Everyone’s calendars are so full! Rather than trying to carve out several days for a retreat, each Wednesday evening during Lent will offer a chance for a midweek mini retreat. Adoration from 4-5, Rosary at 5, Mass at 5:30, Confessions right after Mass. The homilies at this Mass will revolve around the theme of how Christ’s Passion is re-presented at every Celebration of the Eucharist.
  • Soup Suppers: Fridays starting at 4:30 pm (right after Stations of the Cross) the Knights of Columbus will host a “penitential” supper of soup and bread. Offer this simple meal as a sacrifice, donate what you would normally spend on your dinner, and the proceeds will all be given to those in need.
  • Open Church: As always, the Church is open for personal prayer every weekday from 7:30 until at least 3 pm. Spending quiet time in prayer with Jesus in the Eucharist can be a transformative experience. Give Jesus the opportunity to speak to your heart in prayer.
  • Men's Coffee and Prayer: Saturday mornings at 7 am in the Parish Hall the men of the parish will meet to pray morning prayer and reflect on the Scriptures.
  • Recollection: On Saturday March 15th from 8:30 am to 10:30 am join us for “A Lenten Journey, A Message of Hope and Mercy,” presented by Bonnie Kimnach, Cathy Nealon, and Fr. Josh.
